Turkish towel (aka peshtamal, peshtemal, pestamal, pestemal) is a traditional Turkish towel used cover oneself in the Turkish bath (hammam). Turkish people have been using this type of towel for over 600 years. now in modern day culture, people all over the world are using these amazing towels for various uses such as at home bath, sofa cover, pool, Pilates/yoga, scarf, baby wrap, etc.
Traditionally, these are made of 100% Turkish cotton produced on hand-woven looms in turkey. Modern day towels have evolved and other natural fiber blends are being used, as well such as: bamboo/cotton and linen/cotton blend towels.
