What are Blue’s Beeswax Wraps?
Beeswax wraps are an alternative to plastic “cling” wrap that protect food from air & moisture while allowing products (like cheese) to breathe out.
Blue’s are lovingly handmade with 100% cotton fabric, sourced from a MTL family-owned sewing shop, beeswax from local apiarists, pine sap from Quebec forests, and food grade organic grapeseed oil.
How can you use beeswraps? Do’s & Don’t’s
Use pressure and warmth from your hands to shape and mold the wrap around your food. The wrap is self-adhesive.
Use to cover bowls and open jars. Use for yogurt, kefir, and butter milk as well! Use breathable wraps for cheese and for rising bread dough.
Use for bread and baked goods!
Use wraps for half cut avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, melonds, onions, and fresh herbs! (Not pineapple though, best to put pineapple in a bowl and use wrap to cover bowl).
Avoid using direct contact with raw meat.
Avoid heat. It will melt the coating. Allow food to cool before covering and avoid putting hot food directly in the wrap. Keep away from sources of heat.
Avoid cutting your wrap – the wrap works best in its full size and over-wrapping is alright. If the edges seem to fray over time, you can trim them with sharp scissors.
